CANON UPDATE

We do allow canon updates! ICly, this involves patching new data directly into the HOST body via the cryopod. The process takes 1 IC day. You can choose one of two options for how the update is ICly administered depending on how agreeable your character is to downloading new information about their future.

INVOLUNTARY: A latency issue causes disruption to the character's memories via the HOST network, forcing Ripley to shut down the character and put them into the cryopod for an update. In the hour prior to the shutdown (and the canon update itself) this can include temporary memory loss and/or hallucinations involving new canon memories. These effects do not have to be threaded, and may be opted out of entirely. This is best for characters who would not ICly agree to an update or who might refuse to hop back into the cryopod.

VOLUNTARY: Ripley catches the latency issue as it's beginning to occur and informs the character that they will need to be put into their cryopod immediately. This option automatically skips the mind altering effects and accounts for any characters that would happily jump back into their cryopods for an update

Their memories will update, their body will update, but any change in powers will not. Basically: if you've previously used the Canon Powers Buy-Back option, you still have those powers! Any new canon powers your character may have gained that are relevant to the canon update will have to be bought with a new Canon Powers Buy-Back, they will not automatically apply to any previous ones.
